Learn how to temper chocolate with ease

Come along by yourself or with a few friends and learn how to temper chocolate like a pro.
Tempering might seem daunting, but, once you learn how to do it under the guidance of a
professional chocolatier, you’ll feel more confident about having a go yourself.

Play With Your Chocolate

What you’ll learn

Tempering 

The main focus of this class is the tempering process. You will temper chocolate using 3 different methods and compare your findings to arrive at the method you like the best.

Praline Filled Chocolates

Learn how to use tempered chocolate make hollow chocolate 1/2 spheres which you’ll fill with a praline of your choice and fuse together into a Lindt style truffle. Finally, they get rolled in liquid chocolate to finish them off. Wrap them in foil and into a little bag with ribbon to take home with you.

Play with Chocolate 

While our truffles are setting, you’ll have a go at making some chocolate garnishes, such as cigarillos, curls and stamps. Working with chocolate in this way is fun and educational, it will help you learn more about working with chocolate in general regarding temperatures and how it sets.

Coming by train to Marlborough

  • The nearest train stations to Marlborough are Great Bedwyn and Pewsey.
  • From Great Bedwyn, the 20 bus goes from just outside the station on The Square to Marlborough. This bus runs once per hour.
  • From Pewsey station by bus, take the X5 bus towards Swindon from outside of the Methodist Church to Marlborough High Street, just outside the Lloyds Bank.
  • For taxi’s, book a taxi well in advance as there are no Uber’s in this area. To find a selection of taxi services search for Marlborough Wiltshire taxi services or try further afield in towns like Swindon and Devizes.

The Local Area

The thriving town of Marlborough and the neighbouring pretty village of Manton are set in the stunning scenery of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There’s countryside within 10 minutes walk of the High Street in almost any direction, and downland, stone circles and ancient Savernake Forest are literally on our doorstep and the River Kennet chalk stream flows through the town centre.
